Meditation is a fantastic way to cleanse and balance your seven chakras. This CD has seven songs, each of which corresponds to a chakra, starting from your root/base chakra and moving up to your crown.

  • The included booklet breaks down your chakras, the overall principles of the Sacred Sounds, and your subtle body, so even if you're a complete chakra newbie, you still benefit from the meditation.
  • The music starts out low and intense and gradually builds to slightly higher (but still deep and soothing) notes.
  • The vocals are noticeable but not distracting, and they lend a spiritual quality to the music.
  • It's just soothing enough that you might have trouble staying awake through the whole CD.
  • The first couple of tracks are pretty intense, and vaguely reminded me of a period drama movie, but I eventually settled into it.

Meditation gets a lot of hype, but there isn't enough emphasis placed on meditating whichever way is right for you.

Before you wave off the idea of music-accompanied meditation, give it a try. Sometimes it's harder to retreat into the silence when you've got something playing in the background.
