Liforme is an expensive yoga mat but worth the hefty price tag. There are cheaper options that you may consider such as Manduka.

Liforme claims to be a cushioned and eco-friendly yoga mat that is designed from body friendly products, and the latest technology money can buy.

The mat can help if you want to do away with build-up bacteria and stains that would cause pimples or other health risks on your body

As a mom who tries to balance family, household and live a healthy lifestyle, finding the best products to help me achieve these goals has never been a problem to me.

I don’t have a lot of time during the day, but I try to live a healthy lifestyle as much as possible, slipping in yoga exercises whenever possible. I have learnt that there are many styles of yoga that require the use of specific mats.

My Liforme Yoga mat review will, therefore, help you make an informed opinion about the best yoga mats in the market today.

Things to consider before buying yoga mats

Here List the things that you need to consider before buying a yoga mat:

  • Thickness and lightness.
  • Brand
  • Environmental friendliness
  • Quality of the mat
  • Price
  • Stickiness and texture

Liforme Mat Features & Benefits

Thickness

Thin mats will make you feel like you are doing your routine yoga practices on the floor. They are not comfortable to work on, and they will hurt your body.

I like Liforme Yoga mats because they have a thickness of 4.2 mm. This thickness makes the mat not only firm but also comfortable.

Cushioned

Besides thickness, the mat is also cushioned for those with weary joints. The surface of the cushion is smooth to make you feel like you are working on a high-density mattress.

The cushion also makes the mat comfortable and firm.

Stickiness and texture

The worst thing when practicing yoga is sliding around on a mat when you try to take positions. Lack of a grip is what causes the sliding. It is therefore recommended you test out its grip when shopping for the best yoga mat.

Don’t buy the mat if the palms are sliding. I have come to like Liforme Yoga mat because of its amazing grip. The mat is designed with alignment markers that firm on the surface. You will not be worried about taking any position on the mat.

Material

Liforme Yoga mats are designed from high-quality natural rubber and Polyurethane. These two materials are eco-friendly and recyclable.

If you care about the environment, the best course of action is to purchase a mat that is ultimately better for the environment. These materials also make the mat durable.

Liforme Yoga mat is also PVC free. Just like Lululemon’s Mat, its top layer is absorbent making the grip last longer. As stated earlier, Liforme Yoga mat is designed from non-toxic and body friendly products.

Eco-friendliness

Eco-friendliness is also another feature of a liforme yoga mat. As explained above, the rubber that is used to design this mat is naturally sourced. It is manufactured keenly without the use of toxic substances.

Body friendly

Liforme is a body friendly mat. It is designed from non-toxic products. I have been using this mat for quite some time now and I have noticed that it absorbs my sweat.

This helps to maintain the grip throughout my yoga practice. Liforme is, therefore, a perfect mat for heated yoga practices such as power Vinyasa and Bikram.

Size & style

Liforme is 26.8″wide and 72.8″ long. It is one of the largest yoga mats on the mats today. These dimensions also make this mat heavy to carry. So it is not a mat that you would want to carry with you whenever you are on the transit.

Because of this weight, the manufacture includes a mat bag complete with a strap for easier transportation. Liforme comes in a broad range of colors for those who are sensitive to colors.

You can either choose a gray, blue, pink or green color.

Grip

Unlike other yoga mats that don’t resist sliding, liforme has ample grip that prevent sliding. When you are carrying out your routine yoga practices, you can take any position without fear of sliding or falling.

You can use your hands to test if the mat you intend to purchase is sliding. If your palms are sliding around, don’t purchase that mat.

Other top rated mats that you can consider

There are several brands of yoga mats on the market today. In this liforme yoga mat review, I have also recommended three top rated brands that you may consider before making a purchase. These are:

Manduka Pro

The Manduka Pro has a high-density cushion, but less thick compared to liforme.

While liforme isdesigned with alignment markers that resist sliding, Manduka yoga mats contain dot pattern that resist sliding.

Lululemon “The Mat”

This mat has a thickness of 0.19″ and a weight of 2.65kg.

With this thickness and weight, Lululemon seems to be easier to carry compared to liforme.

Also, unlike liforme that is free from toxins, lululemon contain an antimicrobial additive that prevent microorganisms such as fungi, bacteria and molds from building up on your mat.

Jade Harmony Professional Mat

This is a premium 3/16-inch yoga mat that is designed natural rubber. It is lighter in weight when you compare it with liforme. It price ranges from $72.95 – $159.80, still less expensive compared to liforme yoga mat that I have reviewed above.

These yoga mats are favorites among yoga practitioners and students everywhere because of their great benefits and balance between support and traction.

They are made from all-natural rubber, which is environmentally and body friendly. You can click on each mat to check or get more information about features, benefits or purchase.

Conclusion

I have spoken to several practitioners and teachers and have used liforme myself. The mat is not affected by stains and is comfortable to practice on.

Because of its design that accommodates a broad variety of alignment possibilities within different styles of yoga, the mat is a great fit for professionals and students everywhere.

For comfort, the mat is thick and cushioned with smooth surfaces. Despite some few constraints, the overall verdict about liforme is positive.

  1. Hi, I would like to know what you mean by easier to break down than other mats. What kind of breaking down are we talking about here? My previous mat was Kharma Khare mat that is made of recycled tyres so it was too fragile for me and now it is breaking apart peace by peace everyday, but liforme has a much different texture so I don’t know how it would break apart, could you clarify?

    • Hey Ayse,

thanks for your question! One reason why we love the Liforme mat is that it’s 100% eco-friendly and made out of natural rubber. There is one downside though – natural rubber breaks down when left in direct sunlight. This is a normal process since natural rubber is an organic material.

That being said we strongly believe that you will really enjoy the Liforme mat as long as you dont subject it to long periods of direct sunlight (so best store it somewhere dark). It really is one of the best yoga mats out there.
